Ever feel like a hamster in his wheel when you use a treadmill? Then this reporter suggests using one of the many trails here in the Ozarks. With winter behind us and spring right around the corner there is nothing better than running one of the trails and enjoying the wonderful sights that the Ozarks has to offer us.
As an avid runner I am ecstatic that the weather is finally decent enough to run outside. My favorite trail to run is South Creek Greenway. This trail is 8 miles long and runs east/west right through the middle of Springfield. South Creek Greenway starts at McDaniel Park Trailhead at National and Sunset. This is my favorite trail because some where in my 8 mile run I leave the stress of the day behind.
You do not have to be a runner to enjoy the benefits of the trails. The trails accommodate cyclists, hikers and dog-walkers. One of the trails even offers kayaking.
For more information on over 100 parks and facilities you can visit Springfield-Greene County Parks and Recreation and Ozark Greenways.
